Ingredients

2 eating apples, peeled, cored and quartered

1 cinnamon stick

1/2 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp maple syrup

1 frozen banana, broken into chunks

300ml oat milk

50g rolled porridge oats

1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Directions

Add the apples, cinnamon stick, ground ginger, maple syrup and 250ml of water to a saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce to a simmer for 5 minutes or until cooked through, then remove from the heat. Take out and discard the cinnamon stick. Leave to cool.

Put the apple sauce, along with the frozen banana, oat milk, porridge oats and vanilla extract, into a blender and blitz until smooth. Divide between glasses and top with ice cubes before serving
